Welcome 'Back'! - Kate Marrill

As we start back at work after the Easter break I hope that for you getting back in to a work routine is a positive thing – it certainly is for me.  Routine can aid our mental health.  It can help us to cope with change, form healthy habits, and reduce our stress levels.

I know I found the Easter holidays to be a bit daunting without a work routine to anchor me.  I have learned a small amount of Spanish and completed my first jigsaw (probably the first since I was about 4) and enjoyed running in the sunshine.  But I have to say that Monday morning has arrived with a small amount of relief to be back to it – even if we aren’t really ‘back’.

Routine can take the guesswork and uncertainty out of bits of our day, which can allow us to feel more in control and less stressed.  I feel positive about the opportunity we have to develop and to learn over this time and am focussing on that, I am hopeful that the students might be too!

So, welcome back to a new and very different term.
