EFT tapping
I’ve been doing this for a few years now and a therapist taught me about it. It’s linked to acupuncture and is proven to even work on children lowing heart rates and breathing. The technique is called EFT tapping. This stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques.
You have to tap these areas with your finger 8-10 times each place over and over. I tend to start at the top and work my way down. Some people talk to themselves or have a mantra they say in their mind but I tend to do it in silence and concentrate on my breathing. Sometimes I listen to natural sounds like waves and waterfalls. You can find this type of thing on YouTube easy enough. You can do the tapping through clothes also.
It’s helped me massively get a hold of my nerves and just settle my mind. I do it only for 5 minutes each day and it’s proven to help even when you are crying or distressed.
